Northumberland’s annual skinny dip at Druridge Bay – bare all in Northumberland for a good cause!
The North East Skinny Dip is an established and popular annual mass skinny dip which takes place on Druridge Bay in Northumberland. It is a celebration of life! Of nature! And of our own, unique, physical bodies!
It is about taking a risk and embracing a moment of pure joy and freedom! And it is about coming together and supporting each other in this crazy thing called life!
The North East Skinny Dip is all about giving thanks for the summer and welcoming the winter in by stripping down and plunging into the sea with many other individuals.
If you have never been involved in past North East Skinny Dips, then this year why not join the fun and commit to this unique event. Everybody is welcome to take part!
A bit about past events
NESD continues to thrive. 2018 saw the biggest dip yet. A staggering 611 skinny dippers took to the North Sea! Since the first dip in 2012 over £40,000 has been raised to strengthen the work of Mind – The Mental Health Charity. This year the event organisers have gained the full support of Tyneside and Northumberland Mind which means that ALL proceeds from pledges and every single penny of fundraising will go towards improving LOCAL mental health services and LOCAL mental health!
NESD is not just a skinny dip. It’s an experience! Everybody is welcome to join the night before at the infamous pre-dip camp for a unique warm up of inclusive, organic music and dancing. Or simply gather with other dippers post-dip around a roaring fire with a beach BBQ breakfast, hot coffee and mucho celebration!

The North East Skinny Dip 2019 will take place on SUNDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER as the sun rises at 7am.
The location of the event is at Druridge Bay Country Park.
