South from the Cheviots deeper into the National Park is Coquetdale. A favourite place to visit in Coquetdale is The Simonside Hills with its 360 degrees amazing views looking as far as the coast and just looking over the popular small town of Rothbury. Simonside Hills has an easy to access car park, picnic benches and a selection of walking routes for those looking for a small trek as well as those looking for more of a challenge.

Other locations to visit include Alwinton and Harbottle. As the River Coquet runs through this beautiful landscape it creates a ver special place that keeps visitors coming back time after time.

Located at the far southern part of the Northumberland National Park you will find a place steeped in Roman history – Hadrian’s Wall. This area of Northumberland has numerous places to visit along the Wall to learn the history in museums such as Vindolanda, Housesteads and Chesters Roman Fort.
