Morpeth, Northumberland

The town of Morpeth is situated on the River Wansbeck near to Pegswood and just off the A1. Morpeth is a town loved by locals and tourists due to its beautiful location sitting on the River Wansbeck and its good selection of shops, bars and places to eat.

One of the top places to visit in Morpeth is Carlisle Park. You can take a walk around the woodland area with the dog, take your kids to the children’s parks, get your feet wet in the paddling pool, or enjoy a picnic. Since the park sits on the River Wansbeck you can hire a small boat for a trip along the river.

For another lovely walk try Bluebell Woods. This nature reserve is a true beauty spot in Morpeth with round walks of different lengths.

For shopping the Sanderson Arcade will satisfy with its good selection of shops and bars including Barluga, Next, Whittakers, Monsoon, Waterstones, New Look, Marks and Spencers and more.

If you are an animal lover be sure to take a trip to Whitehouse farm where you will see farm animals as well as exotic animals including Meerkats. Whitehouse Farm also has a section dedicated to reptiles and creepy crawlies if you’re feeling brave. There also many kids play areas to keep the whole family occupied.
